Under the patronage of H.H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the programme is developing a specialized course on 'Documentation of Heritage Sites in the Arab Region'.

This course will focus on integrating documentation in management of heritage sites. It aims at enhancing applied knowledge of architectural records, inventories and information systems for conservation in the Arab region. It also will provide the basic understanding of how to make and manage documentation, and to take informed decisions that ensure the protection of cultural heritage sites.

ATHAR programme course cycle
The ATHAR programme proposes a cycle of three course composed of the core regional course, followed by two specialized courses. Attendance on a core regional course is a prerequisite for participating on the specialized courses.

Endorsing institutions should note that applicants are expected to complete the full cycle of the three courses.
