Heritage site conservation and management course
The third regional core course on heritage site conservation and management will take place in 2008.
The implementation of this course will continue to form the foundation of the training initiatives of the ATHĀR programme. It is developed for the benefit of professionals seeking further specialization areas at postgraduate level in the field conservation of heritage sites. To this end, this course will be integrated in the conservation curricula at university level and, possibly, at other training institutions.
Particular emphasis will be given to: the stabilization and maintenance methods in situ; integrating archaeological finds in context; and issues relevant to urban archaeology and rehabilitation of historic towns.
