The collection of the ICCROM Library includes two different types of electronic resources: free Open Access resources and subscription-based electronic resources. All electronic resources are described bibliographically in the Library’s online catalogue.

Access modalities and lending services are as follows:

Free Open Access resources

Open access

The ICCROM Library catalogue includes bibliographic records of relevant open access materials. Catalogue records of freely-accessible electronic resources contain a link that will redirect the user to the corresponding resource, either to the pdf or to the corresponding webpage.

Please note: Cataloguing of electronic-born materials is a relatively recent development of the Library. Not all relevant resources in the field are included yet. The Library staff is making efforts to increase this offer and will gratefully accept any suggestions of titles. For open access journals at least the title of the serial publication is included in the catalogue.

Please find here a list of relevant open access periodicals.

Subscription based electronic resources

The ICCROM Library offers also a range of subscription based electronic content. We subscribe to several titles of electronic journals and acquire e-books that have different access rights (DRM).

These resources can only be accessed inside the Library by clicking on the corresponding link inside the bibliographic record. However, in the case that the user is eligible for an ICCROM OpenAthens account (for example students of ICCROM courses) they will be able to access resources remotely by signing in with their credentials.

E-book lending

Many of the Library’s e-books are accessible in situ through the platform EBSCO HOST. The user has the possibility of downloading the resources to their own portable device and loan the resource for a pre-determined period (currently limited to 7 days).

Please note: to be able to download the resource the user must have Adobe Digital Editions or equivalents installed on their device. At the moment the ICCROM Library does not offer reservation services for resources.
