The New Orleans Museum of Art (New Orleans, LA) seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Conservator of Objects, with a focus and expertise in large-scale sculpture. The Conservator also will assess and, when needed, treat objects within the museum's permanent collection, covering a broad range of media. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for an initial period of 4 years, the position will thereafter become permanent. The Conservator will have the primary responsibility for the examination, documentation, conservation, treatment, scientific analysis, and research on the over 90 large-scale sculptures sited in the 11 1⁄2 acre Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden adjacent to the museum.
