We are currently recruiting for the following post – Project Conservator to join the Collections Care team, based at our George IV Bridge building in Edinburgh.

The Library’s collection of Rare Books includes the collection passed from the Advocates Library to the National Library on its establishment in 1925. This is one of the founding collections of the modern-day Library, and represents three hundred years of collecting, dating back to the 1680s. The purpose of this role is to deliver a concentrated programme of conservation focussed on a subset of this collection containing some of the most rare and significant books in the Library.

The post is full time and fixed term for 8 months.
Salary is Pay Point G - £33,665 per annum.

Applications are encouraged from conservators with a recognised conservation qualification or an equivalent qualification or experience. Applicants should have at least two years of practical experience since qualifying, including experience of treating bound volumes and photographic materials. They should be accredited or working towards accreditation through Icon's ACR scheme.
