The Department of Conservation and Built Heritage at the University of Malta is seeking a wall painting conservator to join our project to conserve the 16th C Matteo Perez d'Aleccio Great Siege wall painting cycle in Valletta, Malta.

Applications will be considered from graduates holding a Master’s degree (at least Upper Second Class
(Hons) classification or equivalent) specialised in the conservation of wall paintings, which degree
included a suitably long practical training component in area/s relevant to this project. A minimum of 2
years (post-Master’s) experience in in-situ wall painting conservation practice is also required. Applicants
must have good manual skills; good skills in both written and spoken English; good academic writing
skills; and experience in the most up-to-date methods of digital conservation documentation
(photography and software). Experience in scientific analysis for conservation is desirable.

The contract is for 5 months with the possiblity of renewal, starting in Jan-Feb 2022.
