The knowledge and traditions based on our heritage are important parts of the protection and development of our society. Our cultural heritage is managed by two ministries; The Ministry of Culture and Equality is responsible for museums and intangible cultural heritage; whereas the Ministry of Climate and Environment is responsible for tangible cultural heritage, and also for the management of natural heritage. \\ \\ **The legal framework on cultural heritage conservation** \\ \\ Cultural heritage conservation in Norway is mainly guided and regulated by the [[https://www.regjeringen.no/en/dokumenter/cultural-heritage-act/id173106/|Cultural Heritage Act]] and the [[https://www.regjeringen.no/en/dokumenter/planning-building-act/id570450/|Planning and Building Act]].
