Description

The modern heritage is a testimony to the life, culture, and history of the twentieth century. Many of these structures are at the moment in their life cycle where they need attention and repair so that they can remain relevant for future generations.

At present, there is a general understanding that this “recent” heritage needs to be preserved, even though often-practicing professionals have to run public campaigns to avoid demolition. With preservation, the time is generally the “selector”. When enough time has passed, the “age-value” of a building/site is generally accepted as an argument for preservation. Unfortunately, this argument does not always apply to the more recent past.

There are many open questions that professionals of today are faced with and need to address:

What is the impact of climate change on modern heritage? What do we do next? How do we conserve this heritage?

This webinar is organized as a roundtable discussion where professionals from around the world will be sharing their experiences and discuss the many open questions that we are facing on this topic.
