Under the general supervision of Deputy Unit Chief, Records Management & Archives CoE Lead, ITDAI CE and the direct management of the Team Lead for Records Management - the Records Officer will be responsible for all aspects of records lifecycle management, both physical and electronic, across the IMF.

This highly technical role involves using established archives and/or records management techniques and procedures as guidelines. The Records and Archives Officer serves as a central point of contact for requests in a particular area of responsibility and is accountable for meeting end users’ needs. This position allows some discretion in carrying out assigned duties and interacting with internal and external clients to effectively accomplish the work.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Helps managing the IMF’s Records Management program, including:

Implementing records management policies and tools such as file plans and retention schedules.
Developing and testing electronic records management procedures and workflows.
Developing and testing business rules for automated declaration and filing of electronic records.
Developing and updating the records management training and educational materials.
Develop training and maintaining communication with departmental personnel on the IMF’s records management program (this may include SharePoint site maintenance).
Assisting with developing strategy, policies and procedures for archives and records management.

2. Provides business analysis support for archives and records projects including requirements gathering and workflow design.

3. Provides technical support for several Archives and Records systems - including maintaining user documentation, identifying new requirements and writing enhancement specifications, and providing training.

4. Maintains IMF file plans and retention schedules.

5. Helps define the records life cycle for IMF record classes and series.

6. Participates in enterprise-wide IT projects to ensure that institutional records management requirements are addressed.

7. Conducts research on archives and records technology topics for projects as needed.
