International conference on fostering Italy-Africa relations

The international conference "Fostering Italy-Africa relations: enhancing business and cultural exchange," organized by the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali and ICCROM, is dedicated to cultural relations between Italy and African countries and will be held on 15 April at the Auditorium of the Central National Library of Rome.

ICCROM Sharjah Awards: Deadline extended for receiving nominations

The deadline to submit a project to be considered for the ICCROM Sharjah Award for Good Practices in Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management in the Arab Region has been extended to 1 June 2024.

New guide illuminates path to recovering damaged heritage

This new publication by ICOMOS and ICCROM– Guidance on Post-Disaster and Post-Conflict Recovery and Reconstruction for Heritage Places of Cultural Significance and World Heritage Cultural Properties – is intended for experts working in heritage conservation and provides a framework through which the recovery of heritage places can be supported and harnessed in coming to terms with and overcoming the trauma associated with destruction and loss.

New publication gathers Arabic translations of major cultural heritage conservation charters

This resource has been published as part of a collaboration between the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and the Regional Office for Cultural Heritage Preservation in the Arab Region (ICCROM-Sharjah). The collaboration is supported by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, ruler of Sharjah and member of the Federal Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration aligns with ICCROM-Sharjah’s mission to assist Member States in the Arab region to conserve cultural heritage.

ICCROM 33rd Session of General Assembly concluded in Rome

The 33rd session of the ICCROM General Assembly, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, has concluded in Rome. National delegations from ICCROM’s 137 Member States - as well as observers from non-Member States, intergovernmental organizations and other partnering institutions - attended the two-day event hosted at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to assess the progress made by the organization, set priorities and address emerging issues in the field.

The winner of the 2023 ICCROM Award was announced today on the sidelines of the 33rd session of the ICCROM General Assembly, held 2-3 November in Rome, Italy. This biennial Award is one of the most prestigious international recognitions in the field of cultural heritage. It is granted to individuals who have contributed significantly to ICCROM’s development or who have exceptional merit in the conservation, protection and restoration of cultural heritage.

ICCROM 33rd Session of General Assembly launched today in Rome

The 33rd session of the ICCROM General Assembly, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, was inaugurated today in Rome. The two-day event, held from 2-3 November, includes several panel sessions, discussions, and presentations on key issues relevant to the current and future challenges, concerns, and pressing issues related to preserving cultural heritage in Member States.

ICCROM to hold its 33rd General Assembly in Rome

The 33rd session of the ICCROM General Assembly, the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property, will be held in Rome, Italy, from 2 to 3 November 2023. The two-day event will focus on the most recent concerns and pressing issues related to the preservation of cultural heritage in Member States. It will be the first in-person General Assembly since before the pandemic.
