Athabasca University to host Conservation and Science Summer School

The 2022 ICCROM Communication and Teaching Skills in Conservation and Science Summer School will be held July 4 to 15, 2022 in St. Albert, Alberta. ICCROM announces Jury Committee of the 2021-2022 Cycle

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, ICCROM-Sharjah had announced the Jury Committee of the third cycle of the Award for Good Practices in Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management in the Arab Region (2021-2022).

Global Summit on ‘Reimagining Museums In India’

The Union Minister highlighted the role of other ministries and departments in promoting and upgradation of the museums present across the country. The Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of the North- Eastern Region, Shri G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the first of its kind, a 2- Day Global Summit in Hyderabad on 'Reimagining Museums in India'. Participants from countries such as India, Australia, France, Italy, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States are participating in the summit being held virtually on 15th-16th February. The Summit inauguration event was also attended and addressed by Alberto Garlindini, President of International Council of Museums; Weber Nodoro, Director General of International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of the Cultural Property and Smt. Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary Ministry of Culture.

UNESCO and ICCROM launch training initiative strengthening management of African World Heritage sites

On 6 December 2021, UNESCO and ICCROM launched the first edition of their joint training initiative “Improving Management Effectiveness in African World Heritage properties (2021-22)” targeting 25 African countries and 80 experts, of which 21 are women.

International Advisory Committee launched

The main activities of the International Advisory Committee are to strengthen the protection of tangible cultural heritage sites and territories (sites) included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, consider issues arising in the process of their protection and rational use, improve the qualifications of personnel, prepare proposals and recommendations for the rational development of historical cities to create a decent lifestyle for the population and other issues related to the preservation of the country’s historical and cultural heritage.
