As part of the international project Undertaking Business in Culture, a collaboration between ICCROM and the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali, applications are now open for suitable learning partners to join the Cultural Entrepreneurship Programme.
On 5 May, we join the international community in commemorating the African World Heritage Day. On this day, we want to celebrate the authenticity of African natural sites, traditions, beliefs, folklore, but also modern entrepreneurship, art, and cultural projects curated and run by young Africans.
On 3 May 2023, we had the honour of receiving the Director of Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali, Alessandra Vittorini, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for a training project within the framework of the Youth.Heritage.Africa programme.
From 27 to 31 March 2023, more than 40 participants from 13 countries gathered in Mombasa to discuss practical and strategic ways to make Africa’s heritage an effective source of economic and social opportunities for youth. The Heritage Hubs Connect Forum has been organized in the framework of ICCROM’s Youth.Heritage.Africa (YHA) programme.
We at ICCROM were happy to see many new faces in the first quarter of 2023, with more people than ever working together in our offices in Rome, Italy, and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
On 28 March 2023, ICCROM Director-General Webber Ndoro received HE Sayed Altayeb Ahmed, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Italy, at ICCROM headquarters for the presentation of his credentials.
On 21 March 2023, Our Director-General, Webber Ndoro, welcomed Dr Jopela Albino, Head of Programmes at the African World Heritage Fund, to coordinate joint projects on capacity building and sustainable conservation of World Heritage in Africa. The visit was coordinated by Youth.Heritage.Africa programme team.
On 20 March 2023, ICCROM convened its second annual informational meeting, attended by representatives of our Member States and permanent observers from all regions of the world.
We are organizing the first-ever Heritage Hubs Connect Forum at Fort Jesus in Mombasa, Kenya, from 27 to 31 March 2023. The Forum will bring together about 30 stakeholders from African and European universities, heritage institutions, and cultural and technological hubs to exchange experience and opportunities and identify ways to collaborate for the sustainable growth of ICCROM's Heritage Hubs...
On 31 January, a culture-focused “Heritage Hub” was officially launched to make cultural heritage a source of sustainable economic and social benefit for Rwanda’s youth.
