L'America latina e i Caraibi sono il fulcro una moltitudine di espressioni culturali diverse che si estendono su migliaia di anni. Questa parte significativa del patrimonio culturale mondiale è fonte di coesione sociale e di sviluppo nella regione, che richiede conservazione e uso sostenibile. L'approccio culturalmente differente dell'ICCROM apre il cammino a nuovi spunti nel campo del patrimonio culturale.
Il ruolo dell'ICCROM, riconosciuto da oltre 20 paesi nell'America latina e Caraibi, è quello di agevolare il dialogo e la collaborazione tra i professionisti del patrimonio culturale e le istituzioni nella regione, nonché di lavorare per rafforzare e sostenere gli sforzi dei suoi Stati membri nell'America latina e nei Caraibi, regione questa che è patria di alcuni dei beni culturali più rinomati al mondo.

RE-ORG in Cile, 2018!
Il 13 Marzo, oltre 200 professionisti cileni del patrimonio hanno partecipato a una conferenza pubblica tenuta da Gaël de Guichen, intitolata “Los depósitos: lugar prioritario para animar los museos (I depositi – luogo prioritario per animare i musei) presso il CNCR – Centro Nazionale di Conservazione e Restauro a Santiago, Cile.

Conservation of Stone in Latin America and the Caribbean
The LATAM International Course on Stone Conservation: Observation, Documentation and Diagnosis recently concluded in Mexico. During the three-week course, eleven participants from Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru and Mexico had practical and theoretical sessions at the archaeological site of Tula and in Mexico City.

ICCROM holds meeting for Latin American Diplomats
On 24 June, ICCROM brought together 14 representatives from 13 embassies of Latin American and Caribbean countries. The aim was to exchange opinions about the LATAM activities promoted and facilitated by ICCROM, and to foster dialogue and strengthen ties between the countries in the region prior ICCROM’s 29th General Assembly.
