The position include theoretical and practical teaching in the active and preventive conservation of works on paper at bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD level. You will be responsible for teaching students in the graphic conservation programme, participating in teaching our interdisciplinary courses as well as supervising and examining students. Practical experience in conservation of works on paper will be an advantage. Administrative duties are part of the position. Teaching may be conducted in English or Danish, but we would prefer that you learn Danish within the first two years of appointment.

Your research will focus on areas within paper conservation. As a researcher, you will actively participate in the research environment of the Institute and the Royal Danish Academy, publishing, initiating, and conducting research projects, both independently and with collaboration partners.

You will be part of an academic environment of approx. 20 teaching staff and researchers and 70 students where good collegial relationships, mutual inspiration and discourse are valued. The personal qualities we are looking for include initiative, enthusiasm, and creativity as well as the ability to work to deadlines and develop didactics.

This is a permanent, full-time position with an average of 37 working hours per week including research and teaching 50/50 or 40/60.  Your place of work will be the Institute of Conservation at Esplanaden, which is centrally located in the historic heart of Copenhagen.  

Appointment to this position requires as a minimum, a relevant master’s level degree and a PhD or scientific qualifications at PhD level. An assessment committee will assess your academic qualifications, and you will be appointed as an assistant professor or associate professor, depending on your qualifications. If you are appointed as an assistant professor, we'll offer a tenure track period not exceeding six years.
