On 5 April, ICCROM Director-General had the honour of receiving a courtesy visit from H.E. Nosipho Nausca J. Ngcaba, Ambassador of South Africa to Italy.

During the meeting, the discussion revolved around the collaboration and progress of the Heritage Hub in South Africa under the leadership of Iziko Museums of South Africa. They also highlighted the need for increased skill development among museum and archive professionals, as well as training in cultural restoration, management and digitization. Additionally, there was a focus on supporting the visibility, growth and fundraising efforts of ICCROM's Youth.Heritage.Africa programme while also exploring the feasibility of secondments from South Africa to ICCROM.

We extend our gratitude to the Ambassador for visiting us, and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with South Africa, an ICCROM Member State since 2004.
