ICCROM welcomed the 97th Meeting of the Spanish Council for Historical Heritage, a body that brings together all regional authorities responsible for cultural heritage in Spain and is chaired by Ángeles Albert, Director-General for Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture.
Welcoming the delegation, ICCROM Director-General Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral stated:
"Espero con gran interés profundizar aún más nuestra cooperación y seguir avanzando juntos hacia nuestro objetivo común: garantizar que la conservación y preservación del patrimonio cultural se convierta en un pilar fundamental de las políticas regionales, nacionales e internacionales, y un motor de cambio transformador para nuestra gente, nuestras comunidades y nuestro planeta, para las generaciones presentes y futuras."
The delegates also toured the Organization’s library and archives, learning about ICCROM’s work in promoting the conservation of cultural heritage worldwide.
ICCROM looks forward to strengthening its longstanding collaboration with Spain in advancing the protection and sustainable management of cultural heritage.
