Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region تزخر منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ بأشكال متنوعة من التراث الثقافي ذو القيمة الكبيرة على الصعيد العالمي. ولضمان صون هذا التراث الهام للأجيال القادمة، تبرز الحاجة إلى تدريب الخبراء في مجال التراث على أسس التحقيق، والتحليل والحفظ السليم. ولهذا، ينظم المركز الثقافي لليونسكو لمنطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ (ACCU) والمعهد الوطني لبحوث الممتلكات الثقافية (طوكيو ونارا)، بالشراكة مع إيكروم ووكالة الشؤون الثقافية في اليابان (بونكا تشو)  دورات تدريبية منذ عام 2000 تهدف إلى بناء قدرات الخبراء العاملين في مجال حماية التراث الثقافي في المنطقة.

تتناوب مواضيع الدورات بين التحقيق، والحفظ، وإدارة المواقع الأثرية، وحفظ وترميم التراث المبني الخشبي.
