The Study Day is an initiative promoted by the Paganini Prize as part of the cultural collateral program of the 58th edition of the Competition, which will take place in Genoa from October 14 to 26, 2025. This new edition features an interdisciplinary approach designed to enhance multiple perspectives in an organic and coordinated manner. By bringing together leading conservation experts from around the world, the event aims to promote one of Genoa’s cultural heritage icons—Paganini’s “Cannone”—and to highlight the importance of cultural dialogue and the exchange of knowledge, comparing international experiences and practices in diagnostics and restoration.

The Study Day seeks to provide a high-level opportunity for dialogue and updates on the state of the art in the conservation and restoration of historic violins, with a focus on diagnostic tools and conservation methodologies, including those applied to historical instrument collections (both private and public). The event will feature thematic presentations on violin conservation, involving a qualified audience of institutional representatives, restorers, curators, researchers, students, and other attendees.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
