MP Gihane Zaki selected as member of scientific institution Institut d'Égypte

Zaki, a professor of Egyptology, is a member of the Rome-based International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and a researcher at the French National Center CNRS-Sorbonne University. She also headed the Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

La Cultura e il patrimonio culturale legati alla nostra identità sono componenti fondamentali della pace. Nei conflitti più recenti il patrimonio culturale è stato danneggiato allo scopo di sconfiggere l’altro e distruggere la sua identità e poterlo assoggettare. Ma, come la storia dimostra, non si può sopprimere completamente una civiltà: si può forse avere l’illusione temporanea di esserci riusciti, ma la stessa civiltà tornerà finché avrà la sua memoria.

L’UNESCO et l’ICCROM s’associent au musée Maidan de Kyiv pour soutenir les musées d’Ukraine

UNESCO, ICCROM and the Maidan Museum in Kyiv (Ukraine) have translated the manual Endangered Heritage: Emergency Evacuation of Heritage Collections (Спадщина у небезпеці – Екстрена евакуація культурних цінностей), into Ukrainian. UNESCO will support the distribution of some 2,000 printed copies across Ukraine, to areas with no or limited internet access.
