21st Conference on Conservation of Contemporary Art

The Reina Sofía Contemporary Art Museum, Madrid, Spain, organizes a two-day conference on the Conservation of Contemporary Art (Thursday 27 and Friday 28 February 2020). The conference aims at sharing experiences and research on the topic, exploring and discussing new ways of studying in this field, as well as reflecting on institutional management of conservation and professional practice of restoration of this type of heritage.

This year’s conference presentations are dedicated to both general topics such as artificial intelligence and urban art, as well as to more specific ones, for example, the Coderch archive; the analysis of the pictorial technique in drawings by Picasso and Nonell; or recent interventions on the flying structures of Yturralde and the murals of the church of San Pedro del Grao de Castellón, among others.
