On 30 March 2023, ICCROM Director-General Webber Ndoro had the honour of meeting with Clemente Contestabile, the Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of Culture of Italy, who was accompanied by Erminia Sciacchitano, Advisor for Multilateral Affairs, Minister’s Cabinet, and Riccardo Luciani, Member of the Technical Secretariat of the Ministry.
Present on behalf of ICCROM were Jennifer Copithorne, Partnership and Communication Manager, Maurizio Moriconi, Administration Manager, Anna Zeichner, Liaison Officer and Marianna Strunnikova from Partnership and Communication.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the areas of mutual interest between ICCROM and the Ministry, particularly regarding the development of capacities for heritage management and preservation in regions such as Africa and Latin America. During the meeting, Mr Contestabile expressed the Ministry's commitment to strengthening international partnerships and highlighted the envisaged cooperation projects in the near future. In response, Mr Ndoro expressed ICCROM's willingness to collaborate with the Italian government in promoting the conservation of cultural heritage worldwide.
Also discussed was the status of ICCROM premises and restructuring of our building in the San Michele complex.
