ICCROM is an Intergovernmental Organization working in service to its 139 Member States to promote the conservation of all forms of cultural heritage in every region of the world.
For more than six decades, ICCROM has partnered with Member States to support them in safeguarding heritage within their borders and beyond. Working at the international and governmental levels, and with institutions and professionals on the ground, the organization engages and informs new generations of professionals and the general public with an interest in heritage.

Background and Purpose
ICCROM operates in a multilingual environment and produces a wide range of documents and events requiring high-quality linguistic services. These include written translations and interpretation services for governance meetings, training activities, publications, digital content, and public communications.
The purpose of this ITB is to identify a service provider capable of delivering reliable, accurate and timely translation and interpretation services in line with ICCROM’s institutional standards.
Objectives
The objective of this Invitation to Bid is to entrust translation and interpretation services to a service provider with proven experience, adequate capacity, and robust quality assurance processes, capable of supporting ICCROM’s activities on an as-needed basis.
Scope of Work
The selected service provider shall provide professional translation and interpretation services, including:
- written translation of institutional, technical and communication documents;
- simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for meetings, workshops, webinars and governance sessions;
- Interpretation services delivered in presence, online and in hybrid formats; meetings can be held in two or more languages and include (but not limited) Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian
The required language combinations for translation include, but are not limited to:
- English ↔ French
- English ↔ Italian
- English ↔ Spanish
- English ↔ Arabic
Additional language combinations may be requested.
The award of this contract does not grant exclusive rights. ICCROM may, where necessary, obtain translation and interpretation services from other providers in order to meet specific operational requirements.

Duration of the contract
The contract will include a six-month trial period. If the trial is successfully completed, the contract will automatically continue for the remainder of the agreed term.
The services covered by the contract shall commence on 1 April 2026 and run until 31 December 2027, in accordance with the Terms of Reference. The contract could be extended for two years from 1 January 2028 to 31 December 2029.
ICCROM reserves the right, subject to satisfactory performance and budget availability, to negotiate a direct annual extension with the successful bidder.
Additional Requirements
Bidders are invited to submit a Technical Proposal and a Financial Proposal in accordance with the Instructions for Bidders (Annex I).

ICCROM requests that proposals prepared in accordance with the attached guidelines be submitted no later than 20 March 2026, 5:00 PM CEST.
The outcome of the tender will be communicated to all bidders within ten (10) working days following the submission deadline.
