The MSc in Protection of Cultural Heritage and Monuments of Nature from the Effects of Climate Change is a new interdisciplinary postgraduate programme offered jointly by the Hellenic Open University and the Academy of Athens. Delivered entirely online over two academic years (2025–2027), the programme awards a Master of Science (120 ECTS).
It focuses on the impact of climate change on cultural and natural heritage, combining fields such as archaeology, conservation, climatology, geology, architecture, and remote sensing. The curriculum includes both theoretical foundations and applied methodologies, with the option to specialize in one of three areas:
- Moveable heritage
- Monuments and archaeological sites
- Natural and historic landscapes
The programme offers flexible study options, small student-to-faculty ratios, and is designed to prepare graduates for careers across the public and private sectors, both in Greece and internationally.
