The ICCROM Library contributes to a network of institutions and libraries to foster cooperation, exchange of information and resources, both print and electronic (monographs, periodicals, and grey literature).

japanese collection

We receive several periodical titles and monographs from various institutions in Member States, as listed below. With some of those partners a long lasting exchange agreement has allowed the Library to give users access to rare titles and collections, as for example the extensive collection of reports on architectural conservation of historical buildings in Japan, generously offered by the Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunka-chō), Japan for many years.

The Library is deeply grateful for all institutional donations and wishes to underline its importance for enhancing the international character of our collections. Member States have the possibility of actively participating in the representation of their countries and regions by contributing to increasing the Library’s collection on global heritage conservation and preservation. Contributing in this way enables us to offer the best possible service to all users.

In addition to institutional donations, the ICCROM Library thanks of all the individual donors who, thanks to their generosity, have enriched our collection. We gratefully accept any documentation on the sole condition that it falls strictly within the scope of our specialized collections.

Collections have benefited from valuable donations related to conservation-restoration of cultural heritage. For this reason, the Library thanks prestigious donors such as Jukka Jokilehto, Peter Rockwell and Giovanni Carbonara.
