The 7th edition of the African World Heritage Youth Forum will be held under the theme “Engaging African Youth in Climate Action for World Heritage Conservation,” with an online phase taking place from 23 to 28 October 2023, followed by an in-person meeting in Cairo, Egypt, from 20 to 24 November 2023.

New project to preserve 1.5-million-year-old human footprint fossil in Kenya 

In collaboration with National Museums of Kenya and with financial contribution from the British Council Cultural Protection Fund, ICCROM is engaged in a community-centred project focused on the long-term preservation of fossil footprints that date back to approximately 1.5 million years ago. The fossil was found in Ileret, a village on the North Eastern shore of Lake Turkana, Kenya.
