A panel discussion at the IUCN congress

ICCROM recently joined practitioners, decision-makers and leaders from around the world at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, held in a hybrid format in Marseille, France, and online after being postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our two organizations are close partners on the World Heritage Leadership programme and share a commitment to improving conservation and management practices for cultural and natural heritage.

Call for Proposals

Recruitment of a Scientific Coordinator: The increasing impact and growing complexity of disasters in Africa are of great concern for both heritage professionals and decision makers. It is expected that in the next decade, climate change will lead to more frequent extreme weather events, reaching to broader areas.

RE-ORG CollAsia

On 13 September 2021, 19 staff members from nine museums in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand met online and embarked on a seven-month journey to reorganize their collections in storage, under a joint venture of ICCROM’s CollAsia programme and the National Discovery Museum Institute (Museum Siam) in Bangkok, supported by CHA - Korean Cultural Heritage Administration. 

Agrawal Obituary 2021

ICCROM joins the international conservation community in expressing sadness at the passing of long-time collaborator and former Council Member Dr. Om Prakash Agrawal on the evening of 15 August 2021, aged 90 years.

Soft Power Conference II

After the success of last year's inaugural Soft Power Conference, the second edition was held on 30 and 31 August 2021, with our Director-General Webber Ndoro, a member of the Soft Power Club, representing ICCROM at the event in Venice, Italy. The members of the club are strong proponents of multilateral dialogue and collaboration as a means for nations to promote their interests, in what is the essence of ‘soft power’.

Endangered Heritage: Emergency Evacuation of Heritage Collections

With the aim of breaking language barriers and providing knowledge where it is needed most, ICCROM and Blue Shield Germany have released a German version of the pioneering online resource, Endangered Heritage: Emergency Evacuation of Heritage Collections, developed in partnership with UNESCO.


ICCROM and FARO are pleased to announce the release of the Dutch translation of the RE-ORG Method. From today, you can access online everything you need in seven different languages to set up your own storage RE-ORGanization project.
