First Aid and Resilience for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis (FAR) develops capacity for the protection of cultural heritage from disasters and conflicts.
By cooperating with multiple actors, FAR works to prevent and reduce risks and vulnerabilities. Our aim is to harness the potential of heritage to build resilient and peaceful communities. At its core are field-tested methods and tools for protecting cultural heritage before, during, and after a disaster or conflict.
FAR enhances coordination in the fields of cultural heritage, disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, urban planning and humanitarian aid, to improve local disaster risk governance.
