Why
Successful interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for meaningful conservation actions. A shared understanding of core principles of the diverse fields involved is the basis on which such collaboration is built.

Conservation education programmes and professional development activities are under pressure to teach more in less time. The course aims to explore the potential of new didactic approaches to learning about conservation and science.

What
This summer school aims at offering conceptual and practical tools for designing and implementing educational and training activities on conservation and science. Explore innovative and effective modalities of learning and teaching core concepts of conservation and science, by working on issues identified by the participants and the course team.

How:
The intensive summer school will consist of interactive sessions, both in the classroom and around Rome, and practical exercises. The working language will be English.

Who
The participants will be up to 16 heritage professionals, with at least three years of experience in teaching, either full-time or alongside another professional practice.

The course team will consist of conservation, science and education specialists from the ICCROM network and beyond.

Cost
Euro 600 Fee

Participants will be responsible for their round trip travel costs to and from Rome (Italy) and their living costs, including accommodation in Rome, approximately 900 Euro.

A limited number of scholarships will be available.
