While the role sits within the "Capacity Building for Holistic, Sustainable and Resilient Recovery of Urban Heritage of Mosul" project, organized by ICCROM in partnership with UNESCO, all staff and collaborators at ICCROM are expected to work across all Units and to demonstrate ways of working that promote 'One ICCROM' by sharing information and providing help and support where needed in a collegiate manner.

Reporting Line

The Grant Assistant sits in the Programmes Unit and reports to the Project Manager in Rome and the Project Officer in Mosul. S/he will carry out her/his duties per the objectives of relevant activities assigned to her/ him in the programme and follow the Project Manager's instructions.

Overview of the Functions of the Post

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for a range of services. The Project Grant Assistant's primary duties include:

  • Manage the relationship with the donor in collaboration with the project manager;
  • Support the project manager on the implementation of the project;
  • Review and submit the narrative report to the donor;
  • Work in collaboration with the Budget Assistant of the Mosul project to prepare the financial reports for the donor;
  • Contact and support local collaborators;
  • Assist with the recruitment of local collaborators, if required;
  • Manage the email of the feedback and complaints mechanism;
  • Provide support to the project manager in developing new project proposals on post-conflict recovery of heritage. 

Required Qualifications

1. Education

Minimum required: Relevant University Degree.

2. Requirements /Skills/ Competencies

  • Strong communication skills;
  • Minimum of two years of experience in grant administration, ideally in the context of international non-profit organizations;
  • Strong quantitative acumen and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work with a range of multicultural colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Interest in cultural heritage and its preservation;
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach to working with a variety of staff and stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of various software packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

3. Languages

This position requires fluency in English, with knowledge of Arabic as an advantage.

Remuneration

The salary provided will be EUR 2.400,00 per month.
