For its 36th edition, the Comité International d'Histoire de l'Art (CIHA) has chosen a cross-disciplinary and committed theme: "Matter Materiality."

This federating theme enables a broad transnational dialogue on research practices, a forum for exchange and networking for various scientific communities. It opens the way to interdisciplinary approaches, notably with the material sciences (physics, chemistry, etc.) and other dimensions of the social and human sciences (anthropology, sociology, economics, etc.).

This internationally renowned scientific and cultural event aims to share and disseminate research by bringing together art history and heritage communities around a unifying theme.

The CIHA is the oldest international organization of art history in the world. For almost a century, every four years, the CIHA has organized a major International Congress on Art History that represents the state of art history worldwide and which were and are open to all nationalities.
