From 12 to 13 March the Director-General was in Paris for institutional meetings with Member States, partners and UNESCO representatives.
On 17 January 2024, the Director-General of ICCROM, Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral, had the honour of receiving H.E. Carlos Garcia de Alba, Ambassador of Mexico to Italy, also accredited to Albania, Malta, and San Marino.
On 16 January 2024, the Director-General of ICCROM, Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral, received a courtesy visit from H.E. Mirta Granda Averhoff, Ambassador of Cuba to Italy.
We are delighted to announce the beginning of Ms Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral’s term as Director-General of ICCROM. Ms Gujral officially commenced her mandate in January 2024, following her nomination by the ICCROM Council and election by the Member States at the 33rd session of the ICCROM General Assembly in November 2023.
On 20 March 2023, ICCROM convened its second annual informational meeting, attended by representatives of our Member States and permanent observers from all regions of the world.
We are currently seeking the Director-General for ICCROM who is responsible for leading, managing and developing ICCROM to continue to fulfil its mission, vision, and strategic directions and objectives.
The 97th session of ICCROM Council took place on 26 and 27 October 2022. We were pleased to welcome several Council Members in person at ICCROM Headquarters for the first time in three years. The 97th session of Council was held in a hybrid format, so we were also able to include Council Members who could not be in Rome.

On 17 July 2022, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities H.E. Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed ICCROM Director-General Webber Ndoro and Dr Zaki Aslan, Director of the Regional Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage in the Arab World (ICCROM - Sharjah) at the authority's headquarters in Manama, Bahrain.
